We first had the idea in August 2015, as Cheltenham hadn’t had a Vegan Fair for a while, we thought it was about time that it did! Also we were very very hungry 🙂
We quickly set a date, and it escalated from there! Our first vegan fair was on the 31st of October and was incredibly successful. We had it at St. Andrew’s Church in Cheltenham, so it was a fairly smallish event, having over 40 retail and food stalls. We were rushed off our feet, and overwhelmed by the positive response from fair-goers.
We raised £1370 for various Charities, including Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary (WARCS), Oaks & Furrows (GLOS), and Keith Mann Cancer Support.
Our second fair was on April 16th 2016 and a similar sort of vibe, over 40 stalls, and it snowed in the morning!
With the second fair we raised £946 for two charities; FRIEND Animal Sanctuary and Keith Mann Cancer Support.
We have also put on a charity coffee morning in November 2016, raising desperately needed money for CalAid and The Farm Animal Sanctuary (Evesham). This was a completely vegan coffee morning, with the aim to show the public that it is possible to make a small change to simple things such as coffee and cake, and be cruelty free at the same time! We raised £80 for each charity.
Thank you to everyone who came to our events, we couldn’t have done it without you! 🙂
